"Travelers never think that they are the foreigners."
~Mason Cooley
Arrived in Dublin (10:30 a.m. Dublin time - 3:30 a.m. Regina time) tired but ready to start exploring.
It's crazy what the appearance of sunlight does to the human body. We should be sleeping but our minds see sunlight and believe that we should be awake. Of course at my age I can only fool it for so long. About 4:00 p.m. the fatigue started kicking in! But before it hit we managed to catch a bus to the city centre and then catch the Hop on Hop off bus and start touring. Day one we toured the Kilmainham Gaol. Definitely decided that living on the "good side" has it's benefits.
Dublin is a wonderful little city. It is pretty large in size (over 1 million people) but it feels small, cosy and welcoming. It is much better than what I expected it to be. A lot of interesting stuff to do and see in this city. During our two days here we barely touched the surface. In addition to Kilmainham Gaol we also toured Dublin Castle, Temple Bar Area, Guiness Storehouse, Trinity College, and a number of other buildings around the city.
